Hockey Queensland has published a new booklet designed to help new players and parents learn the correct technique for playing hockey in a fun and pocket-sized resource. While intended for new junior players, this booklet is helpful for new players of any age and worth a read if you want tips on correct hockey techniques.  Take a look here.

Teams for 2024

SBE plans has the following teams in 2024. If you haven't played for SBE before and need some guidance about which team might be most suitable for you, please get in touch by email secretary@hockeysbe.com.au or message us via @SBEHockey. 


Turf
  • Junior Girls Turf - one team in the JT3 division; suitable for experienced players aged 13-18. Click here for more information. 
  • Senior Women's Turf - two teams in the ML1 and ML2 divisions; suitable for experienced players aged 18+. Skilled junior turf players may also be suitable to play full-time in these teams, or play junior turf and reserve for senior turf. Click here for more information. 
  • Women's Masters - one team in the Monday Masters Division 3 (MM3) suitable for players aged 35+. Click here for more information. 
  • Men's Masters - one team in the Tuesday Masters Division 4 (MHL4) suitable for players aged 50+. Click here for more information

Grass
  • Junior Girls Grass - one team in the Under 12B division. Click here for more information.
  • Senior Women's Grass - one team in the DP4 division. This team caters for players of any skill level who are after a social team and is suitable for senior players aged 18+ as well as junior players 14-18 who do not wish to play at turf level. Click here for more information.

South Brisane Eagles

OUR CLUB

Our family friendly hockey club offers opportunities for people of all ages from the southside of Brisbane to play hockey.  We are located in Mansfield and cater for players aged 5 and beyond.

Our club was originally established in 1970 as the Mt Gravatt Eagles Hockey Club and was located at the Mt Gravatt Show Grounds.  The club later moved to our existing home at FR Caterson Park, Mansfield. In 1998, the club changed it's name to South Brisbane Eagles Hockey Club and it's colours from blue and yellow to black and white.

We welcome any previous members of our club to contact us as we are very interested in our club history.

Our players are also members of the Mt Gravatt Youth and Recreation Club Inc.  This club leases and manages our club grounds.  This club is responsible for the facilities at FR Caterson Park, Mansfield.

Indoor Hockey - Vipers (South Brisbane Indoor Hockey Association - SBIHA)

The Vipers indoor hockey season usually commences in September/October each year and fixtures are played at the Eagles Sports Complex, 109 Weedon Street West, Mansfield.
