2025 Junior Come & Try Sessions

New

We are excited to announce that SBE will be running its Grass Come & Try Program again in 2025. 

This 3-week program will run 4.30-5.30pm on Tuesday afternoons on 11, 18 and 25 February 2025 at the Eagles Sports Complex, 109 Weedon St West, Mansfield. 

Theses sessions are ideal for new and returning players. Players are welcome to attend all 3 sessions, or just one or two on days that suit. Sessions will be followed by the Club's Junior Training, from 5:30-6:30pm and those attending the Come & Try Sessions are welcome to stay on for another hour of hockey if interested.

2025 Season

Information about SBE's 2025 outdoor season will be posted soon.  Pre-season fitness and senior women's and junior girls turf skills training are likely to commence in early January 2025.  We also hope to run some come and try sessions for Junior players in February 2025. 


  • SBE is welcoming of new members of all ages and all skills levels. 
  • The majority of our teams are affiliated to the Brisbane Women's Hockey Association (BWHA). 
  • We normally have Junior Girls Grass and Turf teams, as well as Women's Grass, Turf and Masters teams. 
  • Boys and girls Under 9 can play in mixed teams in the BWHA competition. If we have enough interest from new players we could also have Under 9 mixed grass teams.  
  • We currently have one Men's Masters Team affiliated to Brisbane Hockey Association (BHA).

To express your interest in playing with SBE in 2025 please email secretary@hockeysbe.com.au and tell us a little bit about yourself, including what sort of team you are looking for and your playing history. This will help us direct your enquiry to the right people.

South Brisane Eagles

OUR CLUB

Our family friendly hockey club offers opportunities for people of all ages from the southside of Brisbane to play hockey.  We are located in Mansfield and cater for players aged 5 and beyond.

Our club was originally established in 1970 as the Mt Gravatt Eagles Hockey Club and was located at the Mt Gravatt Show Grounds.  The club later moved to our existing home at FR Caterson Park, Mansfield. In 1998, the club changed it's name to South Brisbane Eagles Hockey Club and it's colours from blue and yellow to black and white.

We welcome any previous members of our club to contact us as we are very interested in our club history.

Our players are also members of the Mt Gravatt Youth and Recreation Club Inc.  This club leases and manages our club grounds.  This club is responsible for the facilities at FR Caterson Park, Mansfield.

Indoor Hockey - Vipers (South Brisbane Indoor Hockey Association - SBIHA)

The Vipers indoor hockey season usually commences in September/October each year and fixtures are played at the Eagles Sports Complex, 109 Weedon Street West, Mansfield.
